Australian Animal Protection Society sponsorship

03.03.10

The Australian Animal Protection Society (AAPS) tells us that each year, approximately 1,800 dogs and 3,000 cats and kittens are taken into their care – along with lots of other animals needing care. Our six-month sponsorship to the value of $350.00 represents our support for, and acknowledgment of, the wonderful work the AAPS staff and volunteers do to care for animals in need.

Pictured above are Freddy (left) and Toby (right) who are both currently awaiting a new home at the AAPS. For more information, visit the Australian Animal Protection Society's website.

Thank you, again, to all the wonderful people who have purchased copies of 101 reasons why it is better to have dogs than children. Without you, our sponsorship of the AAPS would never have been possible!

Dogs in Peril Publishing makes first donation!

09.11.09

Dogs in Peril Publishing are delighted to have made their first donation of $564.01 to the Save A Dog Scheme, in Melbourne. Sokol (pictured above, left) is a 4 year old female British Bulldog who needed her $321.17 vet bill (for pathology for bladder investigation and antibiotics) paid. Harold (right) is a 4 year old male Staffordshire Terrier X who needed his $242.84 dental bill (for surgical removal of teeth, antibiotics and skin scrape) paid.

So, thanks to all those people who have purchased a copy (or two!) of our debut title 101 reasons why it is better to have dogs than children, we have been able to donate $564.01 to cover these expensive costs.

And remember, this donation was only possible because 30% of Dogs in Peril Publishing's income is donated directly to the animal welfare organisations that need it … so if you would like to help us help lots more animals in need, purchase your copy (or copies) of 101 reasons why it is better to have dogs than children today by ordering securely online HERE!

The Save A Dog Scheme have a "no-kill policy", so sick and injured dogs and cats are nursed back to health rather than being destroyed as they may be elsewhere. This often involves expensive treatment in the form of tests, surgery and medication — so vet bills are the organisation's single biggest expense.
